Traveling with your family

Traveling with your family
By Destiny Kruse

Traveling is very thrilling, but at times it can be miserable when you have a family of 10 people in a van. I have 4 brothers and 3 sisters, plus my mom and dad and we’ve traveled quite a bit and experienced the good and bad. You can certainly get squished, with the van terribly messy and little kids sleeping every where. Occasionally we get car sick. Oh and never forget those bathroom breaks, which are usually every two hours. At times everyone’s talking at once or arguing, fitting and complaining. I don’t know about you but most of the time I’m either hot or freezing cold. Unfortunately I told you all the nasty things there is about traveling.

Traveling is also brilliant, for instance, you get to be together, visit friends and family. Inwardly you become more patient with each other and build lots of character. When our family’s in the can we love singing songs together and delight in playing games, like bingo, I Spy, and 20 questions. We also have a travel trailer which we enjoy going to campgrounds with. Last year we went to Florida and got to go to an amusement park called “Bush Gardens.” It was extremely thrilling. My mom loves museums. During our trip in Florida we went to and OMSY and also in Nebraska we went to the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument. So you see, I defiantly think when traveling with your family you will make enjoyable memories.
(This is a writing assignment I did last year when we did writing class, I just thought I would post it)

Destiny,

Thanks for sharing. I love to read what you have written, to see what's on your heart, and get your perspective on things. Keep it coming. I'm looking forward to more vacations with you. By the way, thanks for all the help you give on our vacations. You helped with making food in the van, changing diapers, seat belting the little kids in, and holding their hands during our outings so no one would get lost, just to name a few. Good job on the header you made Emma. I love you!

You're right Destiny. We need to enjoy vacations as well as being at home or at church or at speech club or wherever we are. There will be the good and the bad in every area but it is how you keep your attitude. God wants us to be happy in all things. Trials are a way of growing. Love you, Grandma Dot
